Winnipeg & Vancouver

Two cities,
one eye
always open.

A personal photo journal shot entirely on an iPhone—the light on a January morning in Winnipeg, the rain on a Vancouver side street, the particular beauty of two places that feel like home. Just someone paying attention.

About

Winnipeg is home.
Vancouver is the other one.

Hi, I’m Joana. I’m not a photographer by training—I’m just someone who lives in Winnipeg, walks around with my phone, and keeps being surprised by how much is worth stopping for.

People don’t always expect beauty from a prairie city in the middle of Canada. But it’s here: in the frost on a windowpane in February, in the way the Red River catches the last hour of light, in the texture of an Exchange District wall that’s been there longer than anyone remembers.

And then there’s Vancouver—where the mountains meet the ocean and everything is green and it rains in the most cinematic way. Two cities. One camera. No agenda.

Everything here was shot on my iPhone. No special equipment—just paying attention.
